Pancakes and Clarks Maple Syrup

We were sent some lovely Clarks Maple Syrup to try out recently and its been sat in cupboard whilst I wondered what to do with it! The it dawned on me that it could be added to our all time favourite Sunday Brunch. Its became a bit of a tradition that on a Sunday when my mum comes round we have croissants, pain au chocolate and pancakes. The kids love it and its really yummy, we usually have the pancakes plain with chocolate chips on, jam or sometimes just butter. So this week we had our pancakes with some yummy maple syrup drizzled ion the top and they were delicious.
The children weren't over keen but me and my Mum loved them, my children are incredibly fussy though and I told them they didn't know what they were missing.

I discovered by accident that Maple Syrup also makes a fab substitute for Lemon and Honey, I've been full of a cold and had no honey for my home made cold remedy so decided to add a teaspoon of Maple Syrup! Its safe to say I will never use honey again! Give it a try, Maple Syrup also only contains 52 calories per tablespoon which is lower than honey or sugar. It is also a good source of zinc and contains manganese which provides energy and antioxidants.

  2. Ohhh not long until pancake day now - I love a sweet filling so make sure I have plenty on pancake day - after all it only comes but once a year and we don't really have them at any other time!
